The mission of the Women’s Housing Coalition is to assist low-income women with children who are motivated to become self-sufficient by providing affordable housing, training, and a variety of support needs.


85% of our clients have suffered from some kind of domestic violence.
 
We provide low-income, single mothers and their children an environment that fosters and nurtures their independence, personal growth, financial responsibility and a road map to becoming self-sufficient women and an inspiration to their children.
 

The Women's Housing Coalition
It's a familiar story. A woman leaves her home and community to find shelter among strangers. She brings her children and little else. Often, she has no job skills, no money and no one to call for help.The Women's Housing Coalition provides women and their children housing and opportunity to begin a new life. With practical assistance and unfailing support, these women learn self-sufficiency, often, for the first time in their lives.

Who Gets Our Help?

• Up to fifty needy families -women and their children- each year.
• Homeless and low-income women who are motivated to become self-sufficient.
• Eighty five percent of those we assist have experienced abusive relationships.
• All have children to support, protect and nurture.

What Do We Provide?

• Affordable transitional housing.
• Self-development training.
• Referral services.

How Do We Do It?

• We provide 21 affordable housing units.
• Prepare and motivate women to go to school or join the work force by providing a variety of support services.

Our Work Gets Results!
     
     Women who complete our two year program become self-sufficient and motivated to better the lives of their children, while also being able to secure stable housing.
